Sana wrote, directed, and produced Parvyn’s Irkha. The song ‘Irkha’ expresses jealousy. The music video portrays the feeling of envy after rejection, and how it provokes the protagonist to embrace acceptance. The story explores how Arana navigates her fear of judgement and love driven vanity.
Irkha has been in the making since February 2021. Sana and Parvyn met at an ‘Artists’ Retreat’ in Belgrave organised by ASAC (Australian South Asian Centre). Parvyn’s debut album ‘Sa’ was released later in the year, including her single ‘What You See’ and its music video. Parvyn and Sana collaborated to create her next music video, featuring Naarm’s talented multicultural creatives and their work. Their visions matched perfectly and Sana wrote a story for ‘Irkha’, coordinated with other collaborators, and brought the concept to life.
Irkha premiered on July 15th, 2022. Sana was invited on stage to discuss both her journey with Parvyn, and her experience in crafting Irkha.
