Twin Flame is a 26 minute dance based short film, showcasing the talent of multicultural creatives in Melbourne.
The story is written by Melbourne based creative Shamita Siva who starred in the classical dance based film.
A diverse crew of 20+ was involved in the production phase in June 2022. Being a versatile warehouse-style studio in Boxhill, producers Shamita and Sana found Fabrik to be the perfect location for this 5 day shoot. The mood and tonality of this film takes you to a godly destination. The story begins in a heavenly abode ‘Parvati’s Garden’. War unfolds as Parvati’s emotions and new born interacts with the possessive nature of motherhood. Interlaced with traditional Indian music and a twist in a mythical story known by millions across the globe, Twin Flame promises to be a thrilling watch.
“Creation and destruction clash together in the form of two Goddesses at war; Parvati, the Goddess of love and devotion, and Kali; the Goddess of time and destruction. Out of this duel comes transformation. Twin Flame is a short film that dismantles the toxicity of the Ego, as our protagonists discover strength in unity, in spite of their differences. Produced by a group of young South-Asian individuals, Twin Flame explores modern social issues through authentic, yet contemporised, Indian storytelling”

Twin Flame’s brilliant original soundtrack is available to listen to on Spotify and Bandcamp. Josh Bennet, Parvyn, and Jay Dabgar worked hand-in-hand with the direction team to create an original soundtrack that mirrors the emotional intensity and dramatic journey of goddesses Parvati and Kali, infusing the film’s narrative with powerful, evocative musical layers that resonate with the characters' inner transformations.
